I have reassigned rank based on number of matches played, and I have added the win percentage column I mentioned in the last email. Ladder standing is still based on the whimsical system I dreamed up when the list was started, which rewards defeating players higher on the list, and winning in general, bur doesn't really reflect how often or how recently one has played. And finally I added a recency factor (how long it's been between your last match and the most recent one reported); the lower the number, the longer it's been since you played in a reported Ladder match.
Looking Back on Glory
In the three years since the reconstruction of the club ladder, 113 ladder matches have been reported, featuring a total of 30 different players. I think no one will be surprised to hear that
David Garvin has been our
most prolific player, reporting
62 matches played, or more than half those reported. Jason Sadler is in second place with 21, and John Gorkowski and Craig Stark are tied for third with 14 each.
The most popular scenario participants have been the Germans, showing up in 100 of the 113 scenarios played (really 101, as one had a combo of Croats and Germans). The Americans and Soviets each appeared in 40 scenarios (the Amis share one more with the Brits and another--Joseph 351--with the FFI and POWs, so technically they are a nose ahead of the Russkies at 42-ish), and an agglomeration of Commonwealth (Canadians, British, Australians, New Zealanders, and Indian Army troops) coming in third on the Allied side with 16. As one can deduce from those numbers, the club plays very few PTO scenarios; Japanese only showed up in 4 engagements.
The Germans won 56% of their engagements, the Americans 53%, and the Soviets only 38%--clearly there is rank treachery that needs to be rooted out! Commissars will be issued new pistols and extra ammunition shortly. Though their numbers of scenarios were really too few to count, the Poles had an impressive four wins in four outings, and the Japanese demonstrated their toughness by winning three of four battles.
